What on Earth is a job in space?

22nd January 12:00 to 13:00
Hear from Manchester Met alumnus Dave Black who currently works in UK Space Command! He'll take you through his path and all the opportunities for a job in space.
This activity is offered as part of Future Me Week - five days of exciting opportunities to develop your skills, deepen understanding, gain experience and take steps towards an exciting Future You.

Dave will be talking about his career and what lead him to this point. The talk will cover his own roles and also discuss the wider sector.

“I’m an Engineer with 26 years experience across executive leadership and managerial roles in the fields of Satellite Procurement and technology development, Threats to Space, Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (technical management and service delivery), Space and Industrial Policy development, International relations, networked communications, and IT delivery and service management.

In other recent roles I have assisted in the formation of the MOD’s Space Command and Space Directorate, been responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of services from the MOD’s Skynet 5 MILSATCOM system, managed aspects of MOD SATCOM Policy and delivered Communications and Information Systems to MOD forces deployed Worldwide.”
