Week 6: How to network when you hate networking (workshop)

This two-hour workshop will help you to build confidence in your networking skills. You should leave feeling empowered to start new conversations and further your professional career! Free pizza provided.

This two-hour networking workshop is available for all students in the School of English as part of employability week.

3rd November, 2:30-5:00pm, BS 3.11

The workshop is targeted at people who are scared of networking and starting conversations with new people in professional spaces. The workshop will include:

  • An introduction to the workshop leader
  • Why network when networking is hard/horrible?
  • How to network
  • Strategies for on- and off-line networking
  • Practical exercises using groupwork to try out strategies and different techniques

Facilitator: Dr Kirsty Fife is Senior Lecturer in Digital Information at ManMet. They have freelanced in creative and cultural industries and worked in museums and heritage with organisations including the Science Museum Group and UK Parliament.
