Transform urban greenspaces with Ardwick Climate Action
Ardwick Climate Actions’ mission is to protect our local environment through grassroots advocacy that engages the local community. Their work encompasses the renewing of green spaces, monitoring pollution levels, and climate advocacy through community engagement.
This volunteer day will involve helping plant Pyracantha and Lavender hedges along the Mancunian Way. Meet at the Brunswick Church at 9:45 am to help out! Volunteer days will finish around 2 pm.
Ardwick is one of the most deprived areas in Manchester, and much work is needed to reengage and sensitise the community back to nature and the climate crisis that affects all its residents.
Alongside this hands-on experience, you will also get to interact with members of ACA and the local community. This will provide you with first-hand knowledge of urban development and how to create spaces that enhance the local area whilst also building a safe space for biodiversity in the city.
Please claim points through the Rise self-claim portal with photo evidence of your attendance.
