Think like an entrepreneur: Solve, create, pitch

3rd November 14:00 to 15:00
Put your problem-solving skills to the test in this interactive workshop led by our alumni entrepreneurs.
This activity is brought to you in partnership with the Careers Service and Rise

Each founder will present a real challenge or brief from their business, and you’ll work in teams to brainstorm creative solutions. After group work, you’ll pitch your ideas back to the panel and get feedback straight from the entrepreneurs themselves.

It’s a chance to think like a founder, collaborate under pressure, and gain insight into the real-world challenges of running a business. This session is perfect for anyone curious about entrepreneurship, innovation, or just keen to sharpen their strategic thinking in a fun, hands-on environment.

Meet our entrepreneurs:

Nathan Gonzalez – Nathan is a purpose-driven business growth and sustainability consultant, and founder of Harmony and Resonance  a consultancy dedicated to supporting the sustainability, innovation, and income generation of VCSE organisations. A passionate advocate for social change, Nathan has a strong track record of empowering grassroots initiatives, small enterprises, and startups across Greater Manchester to thrive. He began his journey in youth leadership and enterprise, later supporting faith groups, creatives, and social entrepreneurs to develop income strategies and build organisational resilience.

Kawaljit Kaur – Kawaljit is a Manchesterbased educator and founder of KB IELTS (87k YouTube, 35k Instagram). She helps international healthcare workers pass IELTS so they can join the NHS sooner, with a simple goal: fewer patients waiting, more clinicians caring. Shortlisted for Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe and several UK startup awards, she pairs realworld teaching with empathetic storytelling so learners feel less alone and more prepared.

Mel Bates – Founder of Bates Biopharma.
