Meet our panellists:
Nick Fairclough – Nick is Head of Policy, Insight & Public Affairs at Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), working to support development and delivery of the Bee Network, the city region’s new integrated public transport system. Nick led development of the city region’s ambitious Bus Strategy, which set out how Greater Manchester intends to improve and grow its bus system using the powers afforded by bus franchising.
Gillian Duckworth – Gillian is the Group Solicitor and Monitoring Officer at Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Transport for Greater Manchester and has been a local government lawyer for over 30 years working at district, metropolitan and now Combined Authority level. Initially specialising in property development and regeneration her roles have been more latterly focussed on local and regional government powers and governance.
Mark Dickens – Mark is the Assistant Director of Planning and Building Control at Manchester City Council. Previously he has worked for Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, St.Helens Council, Chester City Council, Wirral MBC as well as a number of LAs in the south including the London Boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
Barney Harle – Barney is a chartered Quantity Surveyor with a background in private sector construction and retail who has more recently worked in the public sector. In his current role he heads Manchester City Council’s Major Projects team who are responsible for construction and refurbishment of facilities in the fields of education, public realm, corporate estates, social housing and leisure.
