Anton is originally from Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK. He completed a PhD in Accounting from Leeds Business School in 2011. Anton ‘s story is inspiring! He has overcome setbacks, disappointment, and various challenges throughout his educational journey to go on and achieve great things in academia. He is the author of the critically acclaimed, ‘COUNTING BLACK AND WHITE BEANS’: CRITICAL RACE THEORY OF ACCOUNTING.’ His book unpacks the lived experience of black accountants in the US and UK, highlighting institutionalised racism. Looking at the way forward, he serves up practical guidelines for black accountants on how to network, and how best to strategize for success across their careers from entry level positions, to senior professionals seeking partnership.
