Have you ever considered studying abroad in Hong Kong? This is an opportunity for you to study abroad for a 4-week period on an approved summer school programme in Hong Kong.

This is an opportunity for you to study abroad for a 4-week period on an approved summer school programme at the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The summer school will take place from 2 July – 31 July 2025.

This opportunity is open to undergraduate students in year 1 and 2.

·

Up to £1,017 in additional Turing Scheme funding is available to home undergraduate students who meet the Turing Scheme criteria for disadvantage.

In line with the Turing Scheme’s aim to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, students who meet the Turing Scheme criteria for disadvantage will be prioritised in the allocation of funding for this opportunity.

A further five First Generation funded summer school places are available specifically to students on the Manchester Met First Generation Scholarship Programme offering:

·      Free tuition

·      Free accommodation

·      An additional First Generation Grant of £1,500 to help towards flights and living expenses whilst in Hong Kong

·      Free University travel insurance

Please note that if you receive an additional First Generation Grant for this opportunity, you will not be eligible for the Turing Scheme funding.

Costs associated with this opportunity include:

·      International travel (a return flight will typically cost £700 – £900)

·      Visa – Hong Kong Immigration Department

·      Food and other living costs – cost-of-living in Hong Kong

·

The funding provided will contribute towards your travel and living costs but may not cover all costs.

*Places at another host university in Hong Kong may be available, but this is yet to be confirmed.
