Spring Graduate Jobs & Placements Fair: Inclusive Breakout Space & Advice from Peer Guides

11th February 12:00 to 15:00
Come along to this drop-in session to take advantage of an inclusive, quiet and sensory-friendly breakout space. You can speak to our trained Peer Guides or a Careers Adviser for tailored support on attending big careers events.

As part of the Spring Graduate Jobs and Placements Fair, the Careers Service has partnered with the Peer Guides to offer enhanced inclusive event support.

Sandra Burslem G.05 is our event’s designated inclusive breakout space, which will have sensory-friendly activities and space to relax.

This drop-in is part of our Careers Service inclusive event support, designed to raise career confidence and support students from all backgrounds and identities. It may be particularly helpful for you if you identify as disabled*, neurodivergent, or feel anxious or unconfident about attending big careers events.

You can use the space to relax or speak to a designated Peer Guide for quality peer-to-peer advice on what the fair involves, how to talk to stands, and answer any questions you have.

This space and support will be available on a first-come, first-served drop-in basis from 12:00-3:00pm.

Feel free to come with friends or on your own.

If you are interested in speaking to a Peer Guide during the fair, please book onto this event page, so we can register your interest and monitor numbers. You are welcome to drop in at any time during the Fair.

If you’d like to get advice on networking and making the most of careers fair ahead of attending the event, attend our session, “Network with confidence: Advice from Peer Guides on preparing for careers fairs” on Wednesday 4 February from 3-4pm.

We are committed to making this event inclusive for everyone; please get in touch if there is anything we can do to support your participation. Please contact careers@mmu.ac.uk at least 24 hours in advance for adjustments, if possible. We will do our best to accommodate any requests made on the day of the event. You can view the Building Access Map for room access and room details.

*Disability includes neurodivergence and long-term mental or physical health conditions. You do not need a diagnosis to take part.
