Social Care and Social Work Challenge Discussion

We invite students from the Department of Social Care and Social Work to join us for a discussion as the conclusion of our Future Me Department Challenge, debating the uses of AI in the sector, drawing on the experiences of the Future Me events attended and experiences from practice.
This activity is offered as part of Future Me Week - five days of exciting opportunities to develop your skills, deepen understanding, gain experience and take steps towards an exciting Future You.

This is event is part of Future Me week and will be an opportunity to share experiences and thoughts from the week.

What to expect…

  • To join an online Teams discussion which will include a panel but will be largely student focused.
  • To share your experiences and views from future me week in questioning what how AI could be used in social care and social work and where you feel it cannot replace or support the work of professionals.
  • To hear about the experiences and views of fellow students and panel members from future me week and practice regarding the use of AI.

Who can join?..

  • Any students studying at in the Department of Social Care and Social Work.

What will we get out of the event?

  • A developed understanding of the role of AI in future social care and social work practice. This will help you build confidence in relation to your digital literacy, criticality and skills.
  • The opportunity to connect with others and build confidence around sharing views and ideas in a safe and exploratory environment.

The question of how AI can be used, and where the limitations are, is pertinent in the sector. Get ahead and begin considering your ‘Future Me’ as an AI aware practitioner, as well as sharing your voice and experience to shape future social care and social work.
