Pop Up Hubs and Zine making for Wellbeing
Settle into life at Manchester Met by dropping by The Rise Welcome Hub, where you can relax, connect with others, and get creative. Whether you’re looking to chat with new friends, take a quiet break, or contribute to our collective zine by collaging or sketching, this is the perfect spot to unwind during Welcome Week.
The zine, a low-budget, A5 magazine-style project, has roots in 70s Punk culture and is an accessible way to share ideas and creativity. All student-created pages will be compiled into a collective zine—your chance to get something out into the world.
The Rise Welcome Hub is a space designed for students to relax, create, and connect during Welcome Week at Manchester Met. Whether, you are looking for a quiet moment, a chance to meet new people, or an opportunity to express your creativity, the Hub offers a supportive environment. From painting and wellbeing walks to mindful photography and yoga sessions, pottery workshops, and wellbeing talks there’s something for everyone. Plus, you can explore Rise’s library of self-study packs, and in-person events designed to enhance your university experience and connect you with your peers.
The Hub is also a place to learn about the many wellbeing activities available throughout the year, ensuring you feel settled, supported, and part of the community from day one. All activities are designed with student life in mind, ensuring you feel supported as you navigate this exciting new or existing chapter.
