Network with confidence: Advice from Peer Guides on preparing for careers fairs
Networking is a vital skill for making meaningful professional connections, but it can be daunting if you’re new to it or not sure the best way to go about it.
Our trained Peer Guides (also Manchester Met students) will share their advice and tips on how to introduce yourself confidently, ask insightful questions, and leave a positive impression on employers. They’ll also share their own personal experiences of networking. Careers Service staff will also be on hand to answer any questions.
We’ll cover techniques for starting conversations, questions to ask, following up effectively, and making the most of the event. By the end of this session, you’ll feel more prepared to navigate the fair, engage with recruiters, and take full advantage of the opportunities available.
This session is open to all.
We are committed to making this event inclusive for everyone. View the Building Access Map, or contact careers@mmu.ac.uk at least 24 hours in advance for adjustments. We will do our best to accommodate any requests made on the day of the event – speak to a member of staff if there is anything we can do to support your participation.
