This trip offers the perfect opportunity to step out of Manchester early in the semester and explore Liverpool, a vibrant city celebrated for its rich blend of migrant cultures and dynamic cultural heritage. Total Cost to Students: £8.60 for a return train ticket, organised by the university.

Manchester Victoria – Train 9:24 am – Liverpool Lime Street arrive 9:59 am
World Museum 10:15 am – 11:45 am
- World Cultures Gallery: Discover the origins of the World Cultures collections, with around 40,000 objects reflecting Liverpool’s status as a major port in the British Empire(Themes: Race, Religion, Marriage, Pregnancy, Age)
Liverpool City Centre – Via famous spots like the Cavern Club, followed by Lunch 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm
Walker Art Gallery 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
- Conversions Exhibition: Explore works by 40 leading Black women and non-binary artists.(Themes: Gender, Race, Sex)
- Stitching Souls: Threads of Silence: A poignant memorial to the victims of the Zong Massacre.(Themes: Race, Religion, Marriage, Pregnancy, Age)
- Creating Visions: Women Designers 1900-2000: Iconic designs by Laura Ashley, Mary Quant, and Vivienne Westwood, celebrating female designers.(Themes: Sex, Gender)
- Carving Out Truths: A community-led exhibition addressing slavery, colonialism, and empire.(Themes: Race, Religion)
