Fashion Workshop Facilitator: Unpicking Couture at Manchester Art Gallery
Fashion Creative Workshop Facilitator: Inspire at Manchester Art Gallery
Role Description: Manchester Art Gallery is seeking a Fashion Creative Facilitator to deliver two one-hour workshops for 15 young people on Saturday, 30 November, at 11am and 3.45pm. The fee is £200, which includes a planning meeting with Learning Manager Kate Day to address any access needs. Kate will also procure any specific materials required beyond the Gallery’s studio supplies.
These sessions will link to the gallery’s Unpicking Couture exhibition and are part of the National Saturday Club’s ‘Manchester Visit’, which brings together 13-18-year-olds from across the UK to participate in creative workshops.
Workshop Goal: By the end of the one-hour workshop, young people will have upcycled a fashion-forward accessory in a relaxed and social environment. They’ll explore key ideas from the Unpicking Couture exhibition, such as ‘signature style,’ ‘pioneering creativity,’ and ‘care and restoration,’ to create something unique and fabulous.
If you’re available that day and feel that you could support young people in making a ‘fashion-forward’ accessory to take away, please get in touch by Tuesday, 5 November.
Application Requirements:
Your name and contact details
A detailed expression of interest detailing how your fashion experience and creativity will contribute to this workshop with links to any portfolio work, or up to 3 min film/audio/media of your choice.
A loose idea of what you might make with the young people (these young people are creative but may not have fashion-making experience)
Deadline 5th of November.
Interviews 11th of November.
