February Festival

An offer for Psychology students only.

People with Parkinson’s disease are at heightened risk of falls due to their motor impairments. However, falls prevention can be difficult in this population as lethargy is a key symptom, which makes it difficult for patients to engage in exercise-based interventions. By working alongside colleagues in physiotherapy and the School of Digital Arts (SODA), we “gamified” a set of physio-based exercises to create a falls prevention intervention that was fun for people with Parkinson’s.

This session will provide an opportunity to try out the games and brainstorm in small groups how Psychology can be used to inform similar gamification of interventions for other clinical populations!

This will be a 30-minute session (please ignore the full hour time slot on the schedule) There are five other sessions during 12-3pm on this day, please check them for availability if this session is full.
