Expert speaker: In Conversation with Matthew Phillip (Executive Director) Notting Hill Carnival
Join Mathew Phillip for a question and answer session to gain an insight into Notting Hll Carnival, an international event that attracts around 2 million visitors
The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual street festival held in the Notting Hill area of West London, England over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It began in 1966 as a community celebration with Caribbean music and steel bands and has grown into one of the largest street festivals in Europe, attracting up to about two million visitors each year. The event is rooted in Caribbean culture, featuring colourful masquerade costumes, parades, calypso, soca and reggae music, and vibrant street performances, and it has become a major expression of Afro-Caribbean heritage and multicultural London life.
