The Chancellor’s Keynote: Global Opportunities in a Global University

Lord Mandelson has a distinguished track record. He is a former European Trade Commissioner and British First Secretary of State. Prior to this, he was Minister without Portfolio, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Northern Ireland Secretary and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills in the British government. He is now a working peer in the House of Lords, President of the Policy Network think tank, chairman of Global Counsel, a consultancy and advisory business he co-founded in 2010, and a senior adviser to Lazard.
He will speak on the globally connected world in which students find themselves, how Manchester Met is continuing to enhance its global standing, and how students can optimise the global employability and social and cultural opportunities available to them within and outside the University.
Note: This is a very senior guest, and therefore, students will not be allowed into the room after 16.10 hrs, and you will be expected to stay for the duration of the event.
