Edible Exhibits Pop Up
Food waste is a significant problem affecting the environment and society. In universities, staff and students often encounter situations where they have excess food, which they end up wasting. To combat this problem, we’re putting together a 1-day pop up in the MMU Business School reception area to engage staff/students/community and raise awareness about food waste.
There’ll be plenty to get stuck into with this bitesize pop up activity. We’ll be giving out free overnight oats with a variety of ingredients that often get thrown out.
Our nutrition and sustainability experts will also be running short 5-10 min creative meal prep activities and there’ll be lots of opportunities to ask questions.
This is a short 15 min+ activity to boost your food knowledge and taste some delightful low carbon meals but there’ll be plenty to get stuck in if you wanted to stay a little longer with our food waste professionals.
Have any food at the back of your cupboard or fridge? Be sure to bring along any vegetarian/ vegan food that we could donate to local groups or even use in our afternoon workshops – yes even old carrots/ apples!
Please meet our team in the Business school foyer between 10am-12pm to scan your rise points, learn about new recipes, enjoy our overnight oat snacks and take away from free food samples.
