Digital Literacy for Refugees and Asylum Seekers
Gain experience supporting a class of Refugees and Asylum seekers as they undertake a series of digital literacy workshops delivered by the University's Language Centre.
These workshops provide an introductory approach to
the digital world, allowing participants to gain key digital literacy and skills to further their chances of gaining knowledge, education, and employment.
Each session provides basic information for a specific topic along with tools and strategies for training digital literacy to adult refugees and asylum seekers.
Through simple language each session provides an overview of the principal elements of the Internet and its derivative
instruments and devices, providing facts, tips and sources for additional information.
Further light is shed on safety and ethical issues fostering reflection regarding technology and its use for a digital citizenship.
