Design the time of your life!

27th February to 5th March
New wicked problems demand new wicked teams! (Mau, 2024) Experience a What If? design project with a difference - working across continents, this project will bring together a wide range of student voices to explore the design of future, creative, spatial and virtual collaborative learning spaces.
This activity is offered as part of Go Global - an exciting set of activities, allowing students to engage in an international experience. Are you having problems signing up to this event? Email GGW6@mmu.ac.uk and we will try to fix the issue for you.

Pre Project Launch: Thursday 27th Feb 12:00 BST 17:30 IST

Monday 3rd March 2025: 10-12pm UK 15.30-17.30pm IST

Tuesday 4th March 2025: 10-12pm UK 15.30-17.30pm IST

Wednesday 5th March 2025: 10-12pm UK 15.30 17.30 IST

IST = Indian State Time

All sessions will be held in person and will be facilitated by MMU’s Design Department and The Design Village, team in Noida, India.

The 3 project days will be structured using the Double Diamond Design Model: Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver.

In collaborative, international online/in-person teams, participating students will explore Healthy wellbeing at work (Sustainable Development Goal 3) and work together to discover issues within existing spaces of learning.

From these defined insights, teams will develop ideas for future learning spaces, that connect and inspire the designers of a future to look forward to.

Design proposals will be delivered at the end of the project to achieve RISE points and RISE digital badges in Internationalisation and Sustainability.

    pre-project launch meeting - Design the time of your life!
    This meeting will offer an overview to the project and will set some initial icebreaker tasks for the project. The meeting will be recorded and made available to re-watch prior to the project start on Monday 3rd March.

    Workshop 1: Discover and Define
    This workshop will introduce the project and introduce you to your team. You will engage in ice-breaker activities and work through tasks together.

    Workshop 2: Develop
    This workshop will engage the international student teams in a design sprint, developing ideas about healthy wellbeing at work. Ideas will be based upon identified spaces of learning and explore themes defined by the student team's research.

    This workshop will engage the international students teams in presenting their design proposals. The design process and collaboration from the student teams will be rewarded - RISE points and RISE badges in Sustainability and Internationalisation.
