Creating a Virtual Escape Room
Play with immersive reality technology as you turn Brooks' CAVE into an escape room. Start by solving a couple of example rooms, then learn how to use Intuiface Composer software to create your room, furnish it and add actions to trigger events. Useful experience for game and UX designers, or people interested in using technology to educate.
A three hour taster session based in the CAVE, the immersive room in the Faculty of Health and Education. The workshop is divided into three sections:
- Play the existing escape room games.
- Learn the basics of Intuiface Composer
- Design a room with at least one puzzle, using pre-made images or by creating your own.
There will be three laptops available to work on. Puzzle suggestions and digital images will be provided.
- Exclusive to Future Me Week
- Learn an interesting skill for your CV
- Awareness of what extended reality software might bring to your work
- Open to all students at all levels, but of particular interest to UXID designers, game designers, and educators.
- Not suitable for people with photosensitivity.
