Create a Sustainable Sensory Garden for Bridge College

25th February to 25th March
Help design and build a sustainable sensory garden for Bridge College, an opportunity to create something that positively impacts both people and the planet. Bring your ideas to life and make a meaningful contribution to the local Manchester community.

We’re looking for students with skills in design, environmental awareness, and a passion for sustainability to help create a sensory garden for learners at Bridge College. The college provides specialist education for young people aged 16 to 25 with learning difficulties, disabilities, complex health needs, and autism.

You will work to a brief set by the college to transform an on‑campus space into a garden that enables students to connect with nature, explore gardening, and experience the wellbeing and educational benefits of green spaces. Project teams will be supported by Jason Williams, The Cloud Gardener, an expert in sustainable urban gardening whose work focuses on creating green spaces that benefit both communities and the environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in space design, the environmental value of green spaces, or the educational benefits of gardening and nature-based learning. It’s a chance to collaborate with an expert, respond to a professional brief, and create something real that will have a lasting positive impact on the community.

Following on from this project and the final garden designs there will be an opportunity to bring your gardens to life and build them at Bridge College. This will take place following the assessment period.
