Celebrating with our Muslim Communities – Ramadan Iftar Event

9th March 16:30 to 19:00
Join us for a meaningful and reflective gathering as we celebrate with our Muslim staff and students during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan begins on 18/19 February and lasts for 30 days, during which many in our community will be fasting from dawn to dusk, abstaining from food and drink (including water).

To mark this occasion, we are hosting an Iftar event, bringing colleagues and students together to learn, reflect and share in the spirit of community.

If you would like to attend, please book your place and share any dietary requirements via our MS Teams Form.

Places are very limited and so we would appreciate your attendance upon registration or let us know if you are unable to attend and cancel your booking in advance.

We warmly encourage non‑Muslim colleagues and students to consider fasting for the day to gain insight into the experience of our Muslim communities. A meal will be provided for everyone to break their fast together at sunset, alongside opportunities for learning, awareness and conversation about the significance of Ramadan.

Event Schedule

4:30pm – 4:45pm – Welcome & Introductions

4:45pm – 5:30pm – Panel Discussion: The Faith and Science of Fasting

5:30pm – 6.00pm – Prayers (times to be confirmed)

6:00pm – 7:00pm – Breaking of the fast (meal will be provided)
