Beyond the lab 2025 - Leadership, Employability and Development (LEAD) workshop

10th June 13:00 to 16:00
This event is part of the Beyond the lab 2025: Employability bootcamp series, created to help you explore careers beyond lab roles. This workshop will develop your leadership skills, boost confidence, and tackle challenges like procrastination and imposter syndrome through interactive activities.

The Leadership, Employability and Development (LEAD) workshop is a fun, inclusive, and interactive space where you can explore how leadership is a skill anyone can develop. Through reflection and practice, you’ll build your confidence, uncover your potential, and set meaningful goals for the future.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll join students from across the Faculty in action learning sets, working together to support each other in achieving individual goals. This collaborative approach will also help you build a valuable peer-support network for the future.

Student feedback from previous LEAD workshops includes:

‘I have learned that you can still be a leader if you are an introvert’

‘The course gives you a sense of positivity for the future and a feeling of unity with peers’

‘I have learned that I am more capable of a leadership role than I thought before the workshop’

‘The workshop is fun, you learn a lot about yourself and there is a real feeling of solidarity within the group’

‘It is a fun and interactive programme which allows you to recognise your skills as well as learn new ones.’

‘The atmosphere during the session is very friendly and sharing ideas and exchanging experiences with the group is extremely empowering.’
