Bedroom to Cellroom - Education, Social Care and Social Work Students

23rd January 10:00 to 15:00
From bedroom to cell room is an all day, innovative simulation which focusses on extra familial harm, criminalisation of children and promoting positive outcomes for young people.
This activity is offered as part of Future Me Week - five days of exciting opportunities to develop your skills, deepen understanding, gain experience and take steps towards an exciting Future You.

From bedroom to cell room is an innovative simulation which focusses on youth violence, extra familial harm, criminalisation of children and promoting positive outcomes. The session is developed by ex Police officer, Steve Kenny, based on his own professional experience. Bedroom to Cellroom follows two young people with experience of care, through the process of investigation for a knife crime. The simulation will utilise immersive learning environments using ‘The Cave’ and ‘

The Flat’ to deliver active learning related to contextual risk, legal processes, and the lived experience of police investigation/criminalisation. This is an all day event.

Content Warning: This activity will address the themes of knife crime, youth violence, criminal exploitation and criminalisation.
