Becoming Culturally Competent

This workshop is an introduction to exploring each of our own lived experiences and lens on what culture is, and how, by better understanding ourselves and others, we can build inclusive spaces of belonging and connectivity. GoGlobal in your future ambitions.

Becoming Culturally Competent (BCC) will provide the opportunity for you to reflect on how your own culture and your experience shapes the way you see the world. We will explore some tools and frameworks to become more aware of others and grow in your cultural competence as you engage in your university community and beyond.

This session will be facilitated by C-J Foster, an Experiential Learning Specialist, the Internationalisation, EDI Innovation Lead with the Rise team and co-author of the BBC pack linked below. C-J will be joined by our STRIVE Leaders in sharing lived experience and hosting the session.
