Be Part of a Live Sports Broadcast Project from Platt Lane - Season 24/25

10th September to 23rd April
Join Matchday Live, a live sports broadcasting project seeking dedicated student volunteers. Immerse in the world of sports broadcasting, explore roles like commentary, camera work, sound, presenter and more. Gain skills, build connections, and enhance employability with guidance from industry pros.

Matchday Live is designed to immerse students in the world of live sports broadcasting by providing them with a comprehensive and practical understanding of various roles and responsibilities involved in the process. Participants will have the opportunity to work on actual live sports events, engaging in tasks such as delivering play-by-play commentary, operating HD cameras, managing the vision mixing process, and more. Students will work closely with experienced mentors and industry professionals, who will offer guidance and support throughout the project, ensuring that they acquire essential skills and knowledge relevant to the sports broadcasting industry.

As students progress through the Matchday Live project, they will have the chance to collaborate with peers and professionals in the field, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork essential for a successful live sports broadcast. By the end of the project, participants will have developed a robust portfolio that showcases their experience and expertise in various aspects of live sports broadcasting. This portfolio will serve as tangible evidence of their accomplishments and can be utilised when applying for internships, freelance opportunities, or full-time positions within the industry.

We are looking for technical and on screen volunteers who want to learn more about how live broadcasting sport works.
