This 1-hour session is designed to equip fashion students with practical insights and strategies to enhance their employability and succeed in securing placements or internships. The session will begin with an introduction to the current job market and placement opportunities within the fashion industry, providing an overview of what employers are looking for in candidates.
Next, we will delve into segment focused on CV and portfolio development. Students will learn the importance of tailoring their applications to specific roles, ensuring that their unique skills and experiences stand out. Practical tips on creating a visually engaging and professional portfolio will also be covered.
The session will also concentrate on networking and interview skills. Students will explore effective ways to build industry connections, through digital platforms like LinkedIn.
The final 10 minutes will be dedicated to Q&A, allowing students to seek advice from the Employability and Placements Lead. By the end of the session, students will have actionable takeaways to improve their employability and enhance their career prospects.
