Health and Exercise Sciences

Exercise is absolutely key to health in the modern era. Today, as we face an ageing population, widespread obesity and increasingly sedentary lifestyles, inactivity is a major global challenges. Health and Exercise Science (HES) explores how the human body functions during exercise and how it can be used to treat disease. Core units include human biology, physiology, psychology and biomechanics. The course is taught using a blend of practical and theory classes. You will have the option to focus on specific areas of interest or select units with a broader, interdisciplinary focus as you progress through your degree.
