PITCHING
Our pitches are going to be a group effort, we will share and celebrate our ideas together in a group. The session will run from midday until 4pm in the Brooks Building room 2.02. Please tell Elle you intend to pitch by Sunday 27 July!!!
Watch these two videos first:
Remember ALL the amazing sessions you have had:
- Week one – Your north star and Values with Kiran Sethi
- Week two – Goals with Jaz Marfo
- Week three – Build with not for by Tom Harley
- Week four – Your story with Babz from Freshrb
- Week five – Get it Done with Mimi Dearing
- Week 6 – Connecting with people and each other, by Laura Negus, and how to plan a pitch with Elle and Gemma
Get your notes, remember your thoughts and your development in each session, and see how far your ideas have come.
Here is the Pitching Proforma that Gemma made for you. Lots of you got this filled in during our last session, use this as your basis – its allllllll on there! You just need to share it.
So, on to the pitch:
We have looked at ways to communicate, identified our Why, thought about visual and word based storytelling, and it is time for you to create your pitch. Remember, this can be in any format that you wish, powerpoint or no powerpoint, it has to work for you and feel right for your project!
What could your pitch include to tell a great story, capture your audience, and get the funders to see the potential in your ideas (that are awesome, so you should share how awesome they are!)
- Exactly WHAT your project is about – concisely telling the audience what it is
- Your WHY – why are you here, who are you/what are you about?
- Your STORY – setting the scene and introducing your project
- WHO is it for – the community you are working with
- What you NEED and WHY/HOW you’ll use the seed funding (what money and resources etc)
- How you will measure IMPACT, gather any evaluative content or celebrate your project outcomes
- Your hopes, big term goals and aims for the FUTURE, the legacy (if you see one)
- Remind everyone of YOUR WHY, and end with a call to action (what you need again)
AND REMEMBER! You are you, and that is the only YOU there is. Celebrate who you are and what you care about, bring us into YOUR world, tell us YOUR story, and be proud of what you have come to say. You should feel proud.
