Rise isn’t just about the opportunities we provide—it’s about celebrating all the incredible things you do outside of your course too! With our self-claim process, you can turn your independent efforts into points that can enhance your degree profile.

Whether it’s volunteering, work experience, independent projects, or self-study, your efforts matter! Rise allows you to claim points for activities that are valuable to your personal and professional growth but aren’t formally part of your course.

How Does It Work?

The process is quick and easy:

  1. Fill in a short form describing what you did and when. To make the process smoother, we recommend keeping a record of the hours you’ve dedicated to your activity. Whether it’s a simple log or a quick note in your calendar, tracking your time ensures you can make accurate claims and get the points you deserve.
  2. Upload some evidence (don’t worry—it can be as simple as a thank-you email, a course completion screenshot, or even a selfie of you volunteering).
  3. Submit your claim and wait for your claim to be approved!
  4. See your claim appear on your Rise Transcript—and why not share it on your LinkedIn?

Pro Tips for a Successful Claim:

  • Label your activity: Provide a short title that will appear on your Rise Transcript. Make sure to write it clearly, using correct spelling and capitalisation, as this is exactly how it will be displayed on your transcript—so keep it professional and polished!
    • Any smaller activities with the same title will be grouped together on your transcript, so make sure you are consistent with your titles if you want them grouped.
  • Provide context: Share details about the time, independence, and value of your work—usually, a paragraph is plenty!
  • Choose a theme: If relevant, select one of Rise’s six core themes (Sustainability, Self-Effectiveness, Internationalisation, Digital, Civics, Enterprise) to work toward earning a badge.
