The delivery is in the confidence
Even the best pitch can falter without confident delivery.
We started the pack by looking at self-awareness, and so much of what you did in that first topic comes into play here.
Let’s look at some key tips for staying confident in the moment:
The ‘As If’ Principle: (aka, ‘Fake it ’til you make it’) The way you act can really influence your emotional state; act as if you’re already confident, and your body may convince your mind to feel the same.
Grounding Techniques: Position your feet firmly, take deep breaths, and centre yourself before your pitch. Being in the moment means you fully rise up to the task in front of you.
Affirmations: A quick set of positive affirmations can bolster your confidence effectively. (remember your values, your story…what makes you so great!)
Exercise: Craft Your Pitch
Time to put all of this theory to practice with a short exercise.

Apply Your Thinking:
magine you have two minutes to pitch yourself for your ideal job. Go back to the prompts above to structure your pitch, bringing to the fore your unique values.
- The Hook: Open with a statement that immediately captures attention.
- Setting the Scene: What’s the job opportunity and why is it available?
- Presenting the Solution: Why are you the ideal fit?
- The Climax: What is the compelling finish that makes you stand out?
- Call to Action: What would you like them to do next?
And remember: this is all about the authentic you we discovered during the first topic….you’re not pitching to Sir Alan on The Apprentice!
Play this back to yourself in the mirror. How does it feel?
