What is a PAL leader?
A Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leader is a role within many courses, who make a difference to students by encourage and helping first year students. As a PAL leader, you will be planning and delivering sessions to students from the same course as you. Your job will be recap content and to guide and encourage students with their work.
The PAL scheme was set up at Manchester Met in 2019 and is a great opportunity for your personal and professional development. Many transferable skills can be gained from this job such as communication skills, facilitating skills, workshop skills and many more. In addition to this, you will receive Rise points and a shiny gold badge in self-effectiveness.
This is a paid role and is suited to fit around your studies. The vacancies are are listed by faculty so you’ll be able to draw upon your academic knowledge and subject experience. The deadline to apply is 25th February, and interviews will take place the following month. Training will be provided over the summer break so you can feel confident and ready for when you step into your role.
