The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. In 2020-21 the United Nations Global Compact Network UK hosted a ten-part webinar series, which brought together a diverse selection of expert guests to explore the role of business in advocating for the rights of Black people. During the course of this Self Study Pack you will learn more about the work of the United Nations Global Compact and their commitment to race equality.

Author Info

Dr Bela Arora is a Reader in International Business in the Department of Economics, Policy and International Business at Manchester Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in nuclear arms control and has worked across academic departments specialising in International Politics and International Business. She works closely with policy networks on subjects ranging from anti-slavery through to sustainable development.

This intensive has been developed in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact - the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. The course highlights the challenges being faced in the fight for race equality but also showcases how businesses are addressing salient race issues.
