Meet your course mates

You are now officially one of our STRIVERS!

We hope you get to know each and every STRIVER, to learn with each other and support each other!

The first thing you need to do is ensure that you have access to Unibuddy! Access it here or download the QR code

As a STRIVER you will need to check our STRIVE community on Unibuddy regularly to join your special interest groups and meet other STRIVERS, get updates, notifications of workshops, and of course the social events on the programme.

Unibuddy provides a social space to chat, receive notifications about STRIVE events, opportunities, coffee mornings, competitions and more. Please ensure that you have downloaded the Unibuddy App to your mobile, so that you do not miss any notifications.

STRIVE is an inclusive community, in which all STRIVERS are celebrated and valued. At the heart of what we do on STRIVE is community. You matter and you belong.  We are creating safe spaces for open, honest conversations about your lived experiences, to be reminded of what unites us and also celebrate our differences.  We provide coaching, mentoring and health and well-being support to ensure that you can focus on developing your strengths and better understand how to navigate systems to enhance your access to life changing opportunities. We also provide spaces to destress during the assessment periods, with lots of peer support provided, as well as direct access to your Faculty PAL and peer & staff buddies to answer queries during the year.

We do the best work. We are honoured that you are a part of our community.

We want to get to know you all really well! All your artefacts and music will be used to put together a STRIVE playlist to be played at the celebration event in March 2025.

We want to get to know you better!

Upload a screen shot of a photo, poem, link to music, picture of an important memory or experience to  – or something that means something to you to our’ Week 1 Getting to know you,’ UniBuddy group.  Provide a short explanation of your chosen artefact – so that we all get to know each other a bit better – please share it here

If you need inspiration, watch the video about the ASPIRE programme (we want to produce something similar for STRIVE using your artefacts). If you do not post anything to Getting to know you,’ UniBuddy group. we will have no content and wont be able to do it! So please post something, so we can all get to know each other better!

Watch this digital story of our first cohort of students on ASPIRE (the original version of STRIVE) in 2022 for inspiration!

The ASPIRE programme was developed by Dr Iwi Ugiagbe-Green. STRIVE was developed from ASPIRE. Watch the digital story of ASPIRE for inspiration for your artefacts for our ‘Getting to know you’ task, but also to learn more about what the STRIVE programme will do for you!
