For the last few decades society has been through a mass digital and technological revolution. Whilst we aren’t quite yet at flying cars, the advent of new technologies has shifted how we think about society, politics, economics, and our environment. If you watch most of the media produced about the future of technology, you may imagine a utopia of automation and personal robots able to serve the human populations who are now able to live youthful lives without sickness or ailments. On the flip side is the mass destruction post-apocalyptic imaginations of technological futures where man becomes an underclass to machine. Whist fantasies and mythologies of digital futures entertain and even provoke philosophical debate this self study pack is concerned with the now, the real and the current terrain of digitality and what effects it has on our society.
