Contact with Blood

As long as a venepuncture procedure is carried out properly, there should be minimal risk of you coming into contact with blood.

Spillages can occur (e.g., dropping a vial on the floor) can lead to being exposed to blood.

You could also receive a needle stick injury while carrying out the procedure. If you already used a need on a patient, you are at risk of picking up and infection.
