Do you enjoy public speaking and presenting? Can you inspire others to be passionate about transforming lives? The Leprosy Mission is looking for people to champion their work at churches and community groups, both in person and on Zoom.
This activity is brought to you by The Union in partnership with Manchester Community Central
Do you enjoy public speaking and presenting? Can you inspire others to be passionate about transforming lives? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
The Leprosy Mission is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with 140 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives.
Can you make a difference for people affected by leprosy?
We’re looking for inspirational communicators who will enjoy championing our work at churches and community groups, both in person and on Zoom.  The role is flexible in terms of hours, as we want it to be the best fit for you as you generously offer your skills and time. You’ll be given ongoing support, training and resources from your Community Partnership Manager, who is only ever a phone call away. You may also have the exciting opportunity to visit our projects overseas.
The qualities and experience The Leprosy Mission looks for include;

A clear and audible voice with the confidence to speak publicly
A passion for the work of The Leprosy Mission
A willingness to learn about leprosy as a disease and the effects on individuals and communities
A good understanding of technologies such as Zoom meetings and Microsoft Office.
Internet connection, access to emails and the ability to undertake simple administrative tasks like completing a meeting booking form.
A UK driving license.

We are committed to diversity and welcomes applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community.
TLMEW has a zero-tolerance policy towards any abuse, neglect and exploitation of all people.  Successful candidates are expected to understand, sign and comply with our Global Safeguarding Code of Conduct and the Global Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults Policy.  Recruitment to roles within TLMEW includes, in particular, criminal record checks and the collection of relevant references.  A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as a volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
TLMEW is an explicitly Christian charity, empathy with the Christian ethos of the organisation is essential.
