Volunteer Receptionist

As a Volunteer Receptionist for Revive you will be part of a team of volunteers, guided by and reporting to the Project and volunteer Coordinator.
This activity is brought to you by The Union in partnership with Manchester Community Central

Revive offers a specialist advocacy, advice and support services for refugees and people seeking asylum, especially for those with complex lives and multple needs.
To ensure the smooth running of our essential services and day-to-day activities in the office and advice hub in Bewsick, we are looking for volunteers for the vital role of Volunteer Receptionist at Manchester and Salford.
As a Volunteer Receptionist, you will be part of a team of volunteers, guided by and reporting to the Project and volunteer Coordinator.
Our Volunteer Receptionists will represent our values to everyone who enters our centre by welcoming visitors, handling queries, including referrals and signposting, and answering incoming calls.
This role will be ideal if you enjoy meeting new people and helping people.
Since this is a frontline role involving working with people from all walks of life, the ideal candidate will need to be a team player with a community-oriented mindset, flexible, reliable, with good attention to detail, non-judgmental and able to work in a culturally diverse, inclusive and dynamic environment.
Additionally, volunteers must be comfortable with email and have basic IT and customer service skills.
Time Commitment
Attendance at occasional team meetings and training will be required in addition to one of the following shifts on the rota:
Monday to Friday, morning shift 09:00 – 12:30, afternoon shift 12:30 – 4:30, excluding bank holidays.
Tasks

Welcoming and greeting visitors
Answering calls and referring any relevant calls to the correct member of the staff
Handle queries, including signposting and referrals
Keep the reception area safe and welcoming
Ensure all the visitors sign in and out
Undertake other clerical responsibilities as required
Adhere to Revive’s policies, procedures and agreed ways of working
Complete training and an opportunity to shadow a staff member will be provided.

 
Full training and shadowing opportunities will follow an informal interview.
