Volunteer Driver - Greater Manchester
Transport for Sick Children is a charity based in Greater Manchester. Our volunteer drivers use their own cars to take accompanied children with no other means of transport to hospital and clinic appointments.
Could you be one of our amazing network of volunteer drivers?
Transport for Sick Children is a unique volunteer driver scheme, set up to help children with a health need living in Greater Manchester to access essential health care . Volunteer drivers, using their own cars, help by collecting a child with their carer and driving them to their appointments at various medical locations. When the appointment or treatment is finished, the volunteer then takes the child and their carer back home. It’s as simple as that!
Volunteer drivers are needed to take sick children to hospital appointments throughout Greater Manchester and beyond. The role involves picking the family up and transporting them to the appointment. If the appointment is short we ask the driver to wait, if longer the driver can go and return later to pick the family up and return them home. The role is flexible with some drivers out most days of the week and others a few times a month. Child car seats are provided and expenses are reimbursed.
Please apply now if you think you can help!
