Volunteer Driver
As a Volunteer Driver, you'll be helping some of the most vulnerable people living with HIV to access hospital appointments and attend services at George House Trust. This role is key to helping to reduce isolation and link people in with important services.
As a volunteer driver you'll be providing people living with HIV who do not have access to transport, the ability to attend appointments in a relaxed and comfortable way. Being a volunteer driver involves much more than transporting people; it is essential that you feel comfortable and at ease with chatting to people from different backgrounds, you provide you're a good listener and can provide reassurance to people when anxious and you report any concerns or issues to a staff member.
Key tasks include:
▪ Driving service users to and from George House Trust and their home
▪ Driving service users to and from hospital and their home
▪ Driving service users to and from other appointments across the city
Our services cover the whole of Greater Manchester so you will need to be willing to travel throughout the region. You will also need a full driving license and your own vehicle to carry out this role.
