Sports Mentor
We are looking for Sports Class Mentors to add extra insight and knowledge of sports to help our students fulfil the activities set by the class teacher.
Do you have a love of sport and the skills to go with it? We are looking for Sports Class Mentors to add extra insight and knowledge of sports to help our students fulfil the activities set by the class teacher. The sports we teach include a wide range, from team sports such as football to gym sessions and swimming. You needn't be an expert in all of them!
At Bridge College in Openshaw we offer specialist Further Education to students aged 16 to 25 with disabilities, complex health needs, learning disabilities and/or autism, getting them ready for a happy, fulfilled adulthood. All our students have support workers to help them access our facilities, but having a volunteer with sporting skills and passion would really help add an extra dimension to our activities!
This would suit you if...
... you're friendly, approachable, and sporty - and if so we would love to hear from you! You will have a lot of support from our friendly specialist staff so you need not worry if you've no experience in supporting people with disabilities. You will also gain valuable knowledge from our training in topics such as safeguarding and data protection which will be useful in other volunteering roles or jobs in education or social care.
