Food Pantry Volunteer - Gorton
Volunteers are needed to help unload the van and pack food into bags and distribute onsite to customers. You will need to be able to lift and move carrier bags full of food as well as follow directions.
The Bread & Butter Thing will be operating their affordable food scheme from Gorton Library’s new Home at Gorton Hub. Customers pay for bags of food that come from supermarket and factory surplus at a reduced price, saving an average of £25 per week.
Volunteers are needed to help unload the van and pack food into bags and distribute onsite to customers. You will need to be able to lift and move carrier bags full of food as well as follow directions. You will be required to turn up on time and stay for the full amount of time and be in contact with volunteer organiser about availability. You will be part of a team of Volunteers.

Skills required:
Good Listening skills, ability to follow instructions. General good health and mobility as some lifting is required. Reliability, good timekeeping, and effective communication skills are essential. Good people skills, friendly and welcoming.
Timings:
Fridays, 11am - 2pm
