The purpose of an Enter and View visit is to collect evidence of what works well and what could be improved to make peoples experiences better.
Transforming Health Experiences by undertaking visits to the premises of Health and Adult Social Care providers to collect evidence for improvement within Manchester City.
Healthwatch Manchester is a not-for-profit, independent organisation here to champion the rights of people involved with and affected by health and social care services in Manchester.
Healthwatch Manchester has a legal power under Section 221 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 amended by Statutory Instrument Number 3094 of 2012, allowing for authorised Healthwatch representatives to undertake visits to the premises of Health and Adult Social Care providers in Manchester City
The purpose of an Enter and View visit is to collect evidence of what works well and what could be improved to make peoples experiences better.
As an Enter and View Volunteer, you'll have the power to improve the lives of individuals by gathering insights and making tangible differences in health and care services. Through first hand interactions with a diverse range of people who rely on these services, you'll gain valuable experience that can support your career aspirations.
1. What does this role entail?
Team Collaboration: Be part of a dedicated team that plans Enter and View visits, including engaging with service managers to ensure effective evaluations.
Comprehensive Insights: Interact with a diverse range of individuals, including family members, carers, and staff, to gather a holistic understanding of how services are functioning.
Report Writing: Collaborate with your team to document experiences and create reports that highlight both areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
Advocacy Support: Assist Healthwatch staff in advocating for necessary changes by providing valuable insights to service managers.
Impact Monitoring: Work alongside your team to follow up and ensure that the implemented changes are making a positive difference.

3. How much time is involved?
The Enter and View Team organise visits over several weeks usually with one or two visits each week. Each Enter and View visit lasts approximately 3-4 hours.
Moreover, as the role will involve extensive “Enter and View” training, and so the idea individual will be able to commit to six months or longer.
