Employment Foundations Volunteer
Breaking Barriers is looking for volunteers who can support refugee clients by delivering their Employment Foundations (EF) training. The training will take roughly 10 hours - over the course of several weeks - and be conducted 1:1.
Breaking Barriers is looking for volunteers who can support our refugee clients by delivering our Employment Foundations (EF) training. The training will take roughly 10 hours - over the course of several weeks - and be conducted 1:1.
The training includes sessions on how to tailor CVs and cover letters; searching and applying for jobs; how to prepare for job interviews; and employment rights. Volunteers will have access to comprehensive materials and training on the UK asylum system and barriers to employment will be provided.
This is a great opportunity for students, seasonal workers or people who are looking to gain experience in client facing work, or facilitating training.

Employment Foundations Overview
Employment Foundation (EF) is a structured employment knowledge training programme that aims to help clients prepare to enter the UK labour market by giving them a solid foundation of employability knowledge. By the time clients complete EF, they will have a thorough understanding of how to search and apply for work independently, tailor CVs and cover letters, prepare for and succeed in job interviews, as well as their rights as employees.

Desirable: an additional language including Arabic, Ukrainian Farsi/Dari, Tigrinya, Amharic, Pashto.
To apply for this opportunity, you must be over 18 and able to provide two references.
Location and days: Hybrid (prioritising people who are able to volunteer in-person); Monday to Friday, between 10am - 5pm ( Manchester)
Commitment: 5 sessions, completed on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Each session is around 1.5 hours long but can vary between 1-2 hours in length.
Once you have registered your interested, you will be contacted by Breaking Barriers team to submit an application for the volunteer role through their website.
