Driver Volunteer (Manchester Area)
We are looking for drivers for our MPV vehicle and minibus to drive the people we support our students and support staff on visits to access the local community.
Volunteers make a difference to the people we support, drivers give an opportunity to be able to access activities in the local community
What you will be doing
Driving our minibus to activities in the local community
The skills you need
A clean driving license and at least 12 months experience of driving
A calm approach and a patient attitude
Good knowledge of the local area
A knowledge of autism would be useful, but we offer autism awareness training
What's in it for you
Improve support to autistic people and their families in your local area
When and where
We are looking for people who would be available to drive people we support from their homes to our service and the return journey at the end of the day.
The times we need drivers are
9.30am – 11.30am and 15.00pm until 16.30pm Monday to Friday
We can split the days and times between volunteers if you are not available every day or for each time slot. Contact us to have a chat about your availalbity
Support • You will be insured to drive the vehicle • Agreed personal travel expenses reimbursed • Access to the National Autistic Society online learning package • You will have a dedicated supervisor, who you can meet with or contact for support.
