Dementia Café Volunteer - Oaklands

20th July to 31st July
Dementia Cafes are a great opportunity for carers of people living with Dementia to socialise and share their experiences. Together Dementia Support are looking for volunteers in Oaklands.
This activity is brought to you by The Union in partnership with Manchester Community Central

Dementia Cafes are a great opportunity for carers of people living with Dementia to socialise and share their experiences.
Many of the carers who attend the cafes are struggling and need a break but still have to bring the person they care for with them.
Whilst the carers are able to get massages, share their concerns and gain advice from our Carer Support Leader and admiral nurses, our volunteers are a helping hand on the opposite side of the room for the people living with dementia.
As a volunteer you will chat, do activities and be a general support to people living with dementia, many of which will need 1:1 support.
The dementia cafes are only once a month so if you have less time available to volunteer every week, this could be the volunteering opportunity for you.
Oaklands Dementia Café (Third Wednesday of every month, 1:30pm-3:30pm):
