Community Volunteer
Community Volunteer needed at Ladybarn Community Hub to help out with facilitating our group sessions
Ladybarn Community Hub (formerly Ladybarn Community Centre) has been going for over 40 years serving the community and transforming the lives of people who enter the hub to get involved in activities and build positive relationships.
We hope people enjoy The Hub as a welcoming place full of life and activity bringing good to the whole community.
About the role:
Older people are especially vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation which can have a serious effect on both physical and mental health.
Our groups provide a safe and welcoming space for our local older residents to come and have a meal, take part in group activities and have a chat.
Our volunteers are essential in ensuring these groups can run and that the group members have an enjoyable time while they are at the Hub.
You will be working in a team of volunteers to run the Older People’s arts & wellbeing, and lunch groups.
You will be responsible for:
Setting up and clearing away of the group activities
Welcoming & registering our group members
Supporting our in-house cook with serving food and managing the kitchen
Delivering and supporting arts & wellbeing activities
Providing refreshments for group members
Engaging with and supporting our group members
