About Breaking Barriers
Breaking Barriers offers a unique approach to helping refugees find meaningful employment, and thus rebuild their lives and integrate into their new home.
Employment Foundations Overview
Employment Foundation (EF) is a structured employment knowledge training programme created by Breaking Barriers that aims to help clients prepare to enter the UK labour market by giving them a solid foundation of employability knowledge.
By the time clients complete the programme, they will have a thorough understanding of how to search and apply for work independently, tailor CVs and cover letters, prepare for and succeed in job interviews, as well as their rights as employees.

We are looking for volunteers who can support our refugee clients by delivering our Employment Foundations programme using the materials provided. The training will take roughly 10 hours and be conducted 1:1, so it is tailored to the client’s specific needs. Full training on EF materials, the UK asylum system and barriers to employment will be provided.
