If you have a talent such as singing, playing an instrument or a passion for entertaining. Or are you just outgoing and have the confidence to be a quiz master or bingo caller we want to hear from you.
This activity is brought to you by The Union in partnership with Manchester Community Central
 
We are looking for volunteers with a variety of talents to support our tenants to feel less isolated and give them some pleasure and entertainment.One Manchester offers a number of retirement Happy Living Communities across South and East Manchester. There are self-contained flats for single people or couples with a living room, bedroom, bathroom, gas central heating and fully fitted kitchens.
Our aim is to create a place where residents can live independently but have the peace of mind of an on-site scheme manager and warden call system. The scheme also benefits from having a shared community room to give residents the opportunity to meet and interact with one another.
If you have a talent such as singing, playing an instrument or a passion for entertaining. Or are you just outgoing and have the confidence to be a quiz master or bingo caller we want to hear from you.
We are looking for people to provide a range of activities for our tenants you can decide with the tenants different activities they would like to do on a weekly basis or use your own talents
We are open to suggestions and ideas and welcome your own thoughts on engaging activities.
You will be supported in all areas from out Independent Living Team, who will be happy to be involved in any way, to make this project a success.

Giving something back to the community
Develop & enhance communication skills
Gain experience of running activities within the health & social care sector
Gain confidence in working with older people
Lead and develop a community activity
Supporting Manchester’s Age Friendly Strategy
Ability to interact and communicate with others.
Be clear when shouting out numbers
Be approachable and friendly to all new comers
Have a positive attitude
