About us as charity
Act4Africa Uganda is an award-winning NGO, working with long-standing partners and registered charity Act4Africa UK. We aim to reduce poverty and transform communities through our health, education, agriculture and livelihood programmes. Reducing gender inequality is central to our work. In our experience, it provides the most fundamental obstacle to eradicating poverty.
About this volunteering opportunity
We are currently launching series of new fundraising events called Date2Donate – find love while spreading love and thus are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join us as Date2Donate event organizers in the Chichester and Manchester areas.
In a world of instant communication, love is increasingly found through mobile apps or websites. Finding that special someone has become ever more commercialised, as most dating platforms require a subscription fee to access their additional features.
During our preliminary market research into the world of dating these days, we at Act4Africa found that top six dating platforms and apps are owed by the same corporation. It’s an approximately £2 billion industry.
Which got us thinking whether businesses should really be profiting from our search for love?
And we decided: NO!
Instead at Act4Africa we believe love can be found through reaching out into the community around us, showing love to a neighbor, a friend, or even those slightly further away in the third world. Thus Date2Donate fundraising events idea was born.
Date2Donate events will be;
Once fully launched Donate2Donate events will be different kind of fun and energetic singles mixers, get togethers. We will be offering singletons an opportunity to meet, build long lasting friendships and relationships all while doing something good, giving back and raising funds for an amazing small charity Act4Africa.
100% of funds raise, donations collected during Date2Donte – singles events and tickets fees will go straight to helping, young underprivileged girls and mums in Uganda and to help us fund our Kathy’s Kindergarten in Mayuge district of Uganda.
